Our Journey
It was on the 17th of September 1988 history was made when the first international school under the flagship of the Island Nation was founded off the shores of Sri Lanka under the patronage of then HE the Ambassador A.L.M. Hashim thanks to the efforts of 20 Sri Lankan stalwarts who toiled to see this dream project come true.
Formally known as the Sri Lankan Embassy International School and commenced with 11 students and 4 teachers has come of age and today, grown into one of the leading education providers in the region, a remarkable achievement over the last 32 years on foreign soil.
SLISR runs three separate campuses for girls, boys, and the kindergarten and managed by a Board of Directors elected from among the parent body. The School is affiliated with the Pearson Edexcel Exam Board and is licensed under the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The School endeavors to move towards greater heights under the kind patronage and able guidance of His Excellency the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom, the Patron of the school, and the community at large.
